Dance Make Up

Hi, the last time I wrote on the page I said that we would be talking about eye make up, the different types

and in my opinion the best ones to use.

Firstly for any performance I would use a make up that had been made especially for that job, they are longer

lasting and have more vibrant colours than normal street make up, they mite be a little more expensive but it

pays off in the end.

I have three types of eye make up in my kit, Pressed powder, Cream eye make up, and Colour powders.

Lets start with pressed powder, these are a solid block of colour which you apply with a soft brush. They are

light on the eye have a wide range of colours and because they are a powder can be blended together to give

a great smoky look, this is the product I would use for a make up that's not going to have to stand up to a

great deal of hard work, its a normal day type make up.

You would tend to lose colour as time goes on as the dry powder rubs away especially if you are active.

Cream make up is a little harder to apply, you can again blend the colours together and they do come in

metallic colours, but these make ups do need to be set with a setting powder to keep them in place, if this is

not done you will get movement in the colour and cresses which does not look good. It also would smudge

off the eye which is something you don't want to happen.

So what's the best make up to use for that great look for dance ? Well in my opinion it has to be Powder

Colour Make Up these make ups come in a good range of colours which is growing all the time, They can be

used dry as a shimmer to the skin or the best of all can be mixed with a setting product to make a liquid

make up.

You have great control over the make up in a liquid form you can get great eye lines and flicks its long

lasting and the metallic colours are fantastic.

We have just started to introduce our own range of these make ups especially for freestyle dancers using

professional cosmetics and setting product which has no alcohol in them so are safe and gentle to use around

the eyes unlike some other makes.

These are powder colour make up's and here it is applied .

The other important part of eye make up is the brush you use, I have the AQ815 to get the lines and shape I

need. Its a great little brush a nice size for the hand. For fine detail I use the AQ814.

Well I hope you find this little page of use and that you have a look at the make ups available to professional

dancers.

All the best

Max.
